What would make a bed turn ya red on top and not on the back?

I thought I would mention that the motor that lowers the top is broken and I have been self lowering it to where it almost touches my tummy?

What kind of lamps? Do you have the acrylic off of the top? Are you using reflector lamps and the bottom ones are in backwards?

top says bermuda gold 105w and bottom lamps say california tan 100w
they are under an acrylic sheet with reflectors behind them

Both are 100w. The top ones are probably much higher UVB.
