Rep Power: 0 | Setting up delay wall timer I have a Sonnenbraune 732/3 that we have just bypassed the timer and use the on/off switch on the bed itself with a beeping timer to alert us when time is up. However, I'm a little concerned about someone falling asleep and baking to death, so I want to hook up a wall timer. I purchased a GE wall delay timer at home depot that has 10/20/30 min delay buttons, but I can't figure out how to wire it to the bed. The bed currently has the long wall timer connection cord with the black and red wires just wrapped together with a wire nut. The new delay wall timer has 4 wires (black, blue, white, green). How do I connect these 4 wires to the black and red wires on the bed? I hope I'm correct in assuming that once it's hooked up, we just have to press one of the 10/20/30 min buttons on the wall timer for the bed to run for the specified time? Thanks! |

I've read many threads on here where experts tell people to get a simple intermatic dial type wall timer at Home Depot. What did I say that was so bad? |

I had an electrician come over and found out that the timer I got has a neutral wire because of the led lights on each button to show what what was selected. This type of timer will not work with this bed. I had to get a basic dial type timer and it works great. Might not look as good, but it works. Thanks, and again I apologize for the misunderstanding. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Setting up delay wall timer I read several posts that said "any basic timer will work. Go to Home Depot and purchase a simple timer and it's very easy to hook up". So that's what I did. They did not have any dial timers in stock, but had these newer 4 button select-a-min type timers that said 'replaces all standard dial-type timers' on the box. I figured they would work the same, and looked much nicer as well. Instead of turning a dial and guessing which tiny notch is 15 or 20 minutes etc... all you had to do was press a button. But apparently these fancier timers require an additional neutral wire which my beds connection does not have. |
