Interesting topic - Ergoline has a new "beauty lounge" Selling for around 17-20k. We all know these types of machines have been in existance for years, but with the industry getting hammered with more undeserved and un scientifically warranted negativity, perhaps addding something like this to our line up of options for tanners could prove positve...

1. Anyone have any experience with this?

2. Sales? Do your customers care about using photorejuvenation?

3. Are there other brands (ex: prosun, or the older ets) brands that you prefer?

4. What is the right amount of 633nm Light ? some machines (ergo) have 30 180 watt collagen lamps, some (prosun) have 48 200 watt lamps, etc. What is necessary to acheive real results?

5. Anyone have real results to talk about? positive or negative?

I think "hipocritical" might be applicable here. I know all the companies that market "red light therapy" units also market uv tanning units. Can we sell uv tanning which is said to produce fine lines and wrinkles and then put them in the red light unit to eliminate those? I realize that a whole different market might be created using red light, but getting them to be consistant in using red light is another problem. I just can't commit to red light, no matter what the price.

At least Red Light companies don't openly bash UV as many sunless companies have done in the past.

I think there is huge growth potential in the RLT business.

We have the Beauty Lounge and we have done very well with it! Customers are very open to trying to undo some of the damage they get from the natural sun and from tanning beds. In our salon they can add it to their existing draft for an additional $19.99. A lot of people add it on! Its a a great thing to have IMO. But I think it depends a little on what other equipment you offer and what kind of market you are in!

I've not used the above posted. Contradicting as it may seem, I just had laser to have some brown spots removed.

I'm certain I'm not the only one vein enough to want clear skin again. I took a week off work so I did not alarm or discourage any clients.

If there is a way to market it without dismissing tanning, then a place could be made for these types of services.

We have the red light and it has been slow for us but we are the only one in our town that offers it. We have had a few people who try it and love it.

Originally we offered it to women in their 40's or later but we just started showing it to younger girls in their early 20's and they love it.

I think once we get the information out there and get enought people to try it that it will do better.

We also have a turbo sonic which is a vibration machine and we sell them at $10 a session and did a lot of people also use that machine.

We looked at the beauty and really liked it, Prosun has another unit that is a 10 min. with more lamps they said and it was priced just under 15k for it. They also had the vibration and red light together.

I have a mon amie in my salon. It markets well to people of all ages. Younger clients as well as mature customers are concerned with their skin. Well worth the investment in the right location!!!!monamie.jpg

update, we just put another RLT bed in our second salon. Our customers are loving it and it is a fantastic way to get new customers in the door!

we have installed an ergoline flair a month or so ago and we are really disappointed - not one client has seen any kind of change in their skin. Has anyone else had this sort of experience? Most people have so far done more than 10 treatments (twice a week) and they are starting to get a bit upset at the lack of results. Anyone else??
