Red face High Pressure Bed Questions

I appologize if what I am about to ask is ignorant but I am not a tanning salon owner I just work at one. I am a translator for my boss who is Japanese and does not speak english very well so I am asking questions for him:
The shop I work at is in Okinawa Japan so tanning is very new to the culture here and there is not an abundant source of information on island other than the internet and even then it becomes confusing.

My question is regarding a new type of glass for high pressure beds. The old style beds have the UVA bulbs with the blue filter but I guess there is the new style where blue filters arent used and my manager wants to get some for his Sportarredo HP bed. Does anyone have any
information/advice about purchasing this kind of glass/acrylic or whatever it is made of?

I hope that wasn't confusing.

You really can't switch out the blue glass for the new styled mirrored glass. The lamps are the same, just the glass is different. The mirrored glass typically lets more UVA & UVB thru, however it also lets more IR heat thru also. They really are not interchangable unless your bed manufacturer offers this as an option.

Re: High Pressure Bed Questions

I see, so the only option is to either get a new bed that supports that
type of set up or keep the old bed with the old system? I think that makes sense. Do you think most beds that are able to use the new mirrored glass built with them? I figured his old bed woulnt be able to support the new style glass but his thing was that you arent actually replacing the bulbs you are just replacing the filters so to speak so he thought he might be able to order it and swap out the blue filter. His high pressure bed is a Sportarredo Master Sun. Have you had any person experience tanning under both styles? I mean is it worth it to switch?

Re: High Pressure Bed Questions

The Sportarredo Mastersun has very low UVB, a very gentle high UVA tan. Very little chance of getting a sun burn. (You have the Mattress version correct? Not the new 360 style)

The newer style units with the mirrored glass will have slightly higher UVB & also still maintain very high UVA levels, these will please the more experienced tanners & darker skin types will see a much faster tanning result.

I don't know if it is worth it to switch the unit out, but the newer HP units on the market are bit more agressive & typically have a shorter session time also.

Re: High Pressure Bed Questions

Yes he has the old matress version, And I think he plans on keeping it but I guess he will just have to keep the blue tint, he is convinced he will be able to trade itout for the new mirrored glass if he can just find where to purchase it and have it cut correctly but Im thinking that isnt going to be an easy task if even possible at all. Thanks for all of your information though, it has been a huge help.

Re: High Pressure Bed Questions

This is off topic but to your knowledge what is the best stand up bed you know of?
I know we talked about the T200 and T230 but Im just wondering if theres anything else out there that you might recommend over those.
