Question Not happy with Cosmo 220 hp longlamp

I 've got a Suncapsule Supersonic and Suncapsule X7. I'm using
Cosmolux vhr 220 hp longlamp. The last two lamp changes have not lived up to my first lamp change. Voltage is correct. Lamp changes at 400 hours. Is it Cosmedico? What lamps are others using in these units?

Re: Not happy with Cosmo 220 hp longlamp

I have the exact same stand up as you (X7), any other lamp you use will disappoint you. I have tried evey other lamp available for this unit and nothing works as good as the Cosmedicos.

I have never even come close to letting them go for 400 hrs though. That is the probably why you're not happy. I change all 54 at around 150 - 175 hrs. You could also relamp the front 24 every 75 hrs which is what I do in between evey other whole lamp change.

No other lamp will perform as good as the Cosmedico... They are made "specifically" for that unit. Trust me, I am an absolute freak when it comes to this sort of thing. Stick with the long lamp or buy a 2 meter Suncapsule.

Yeah, the key to that unit is to keep fresh lamps in it. 400 hours is way to long in that machine.
When your front set reaches about 125-150 hours, rotate them to the back and install a fresh set in the front.

Our 220w 1.9m is made for that unit as well. We sell thousands of them a year to our satisfied customers.

I do agree though that 400 hours is not realistic!

Re: Not happy with Cosmo 220 hp longlamp

More like at 12min sessions. I believe this is a 7min booth and it has 9K90s in it which are more of a 12-15min "technology" unless it's over juiced (which I believe they are in this case) which doesn't give them much room to age.

Try the LSIs or just change them out more often than not. The same reason why you get 1000 miles out of tires on a race car is the same reason you get 200hrs out of these lamps in that booth.
