Radius 252

Currently have a Radius SR-48 and am looking to upgrade to the Radius 252.

One of the things that really annoys me about my current unit is that it is extremely loud.

Could anyone that currently has a 252 tell me if it is a loud unit?

Just as loud. Twice as hot.

Re: Radius 252

Yes, Just as loud. However you can expect a much better lamp life. The 252 is a choke ballast system, so you can get about 500-550 hrs no problem. Most people with the SR48 are lucky to get 350-400 hrs before the lamps start to fail.

We have a 252, it's a very loud unit- well ventilated and roomy. Gives great color.

Re: Radius 252

With the speakers at the top it is a big improvement. It is load but I would say it is slightly quieter. I have both side by side.

Re: Radius 252

252's fan is very loud and hot.

It produces quality tans and our clients like it. I agree with John, although I did not know it was due to the ballasts, that we get long lamp life.

Re: Radius 252

My clients love it. When I first opened it was hardly used, now it is used a lot. It is the bed I make the most on upgrades from cause a lot of people don't like to standup all the time.

Re: Radius 252

Clients like it, Im still not loving it...Its a level 2 for us, and I personally LOVE the results from my Sundazzler....not as flashy, not as large, but IMO a superior tan from the oldie but goodie.

Re: Radius 252

The fan was updated a couple of years ago, and is no longer as loud as older units. Definitely, definitely not nearly as loud as it was. Used to sound like an air plane
