Re: FormoStar InfraRed Body Wrap VS Fit Bodywrap

Hey Hot Stuff ... I actually really like the bed myself. However, the biggest problem I had was purchasing a used bed from CalTan. The bed was a mess when I received it even though they sent me a picture of what I consider a totally different bed. Then setting it up !!! Wow !!! That was another experience !!! I have it up and running now and my clients seem to really like it. I like the tan I get when I use it with Ruby by Designer Skin (love that lotion !!). But ~ in the future ... I will definitely do more research when it comes to purchasing another bed. But I will DEFINITELY ... and I mean DEFINITELY ... never purchase or recommend CalTan to ANYONE !!!

Re: FormoStar InfraRed Body Wrap VS Fit Bodywrap

I have heard nothing but bad stuff about the velocity; primarily its results are substandard because the bulbs are too far away from the body. However, if you don't have anything else to compare it to... and, there is the wow factor of its looks....

Re: FormoStar InfraRed Body Wrap VS Fit Bodywrap

As far as the comparison between the FIT wrap & the Formostar...... there really is none. I am biased for two reasons but I am also, I believe , correct. I had a Formostar in my salon & it turned my business around. The stores value skyrocketed & when I got an offer from someone interested in buying it, I sold. My second reason for being biased is that I am a Formostar distributor.I have tried the FIT wrap. To me, it's a very undependable "sweat bag". Why pay thousands for this when you could go on www.alibaba.com & purchase one for $500.00? It's basically a home unit that lasts a few months ( the warranty is 4 months) has a history of catching on fire, is unsanitary & isn't in the same league as far as results as The Formostar. The Formostar is the only true COMMERCIAL unit available. In the past, before it was getting incredible usage, there were problems w/pad failures. They simply weren't designed for the extreme usage they now get. The pads have now been totally redesigned & are virtually indestructible. There is just no comparison.

This is what you get when you buy a Sudatonic or FIT wrap body bag:

I totally disagree with you. I've done thermal body wraps for 3 years with several thousand people.

Why are there only two cables if you are comparing this to Fit? Where are the 3 zones? What is the weight of the blanket? The temp settings?
It does resemble the Sudatonic only because of the color but certainly not the same unit.

Looks like its 30-60c which would be like 85-140F. but its only 300 watts. this unit is nowhere near the specs of either the sudatonic or FIT units.

Re: FormoStar InfraRed Body Wrap VS Fit Bodywrap

Looks like there is some "bias" in the formostar person's evaluation. The wraps for the arms and legs seem to be suspect in terms of their ability to withstand the rigors of multiple uses. They are placed directly on the body-if I understand correctly. My understanding of the Fit system is that it goes over a body suit that is purchased by the customer, therefore does not come in direct contact with the skin, which may help it last longer. However, I do know of top notch salons who use both.

Hot Stuff !! It's funny ... but I personally love the Velocity !!! Between that bed and using a tingle lotion (I love Ruby by Designer Skin) I have an awesome tan from that bed. I like the idea that the bulbs are far away from my face. I guess to each his own !!

Re: FormoStar InfraRed Body Wrap VS Fit Bodywrap

I've had the FIT BodyWrap in my salon for about a month now. I am offering it at a price of 3/$99 or 3/$109 with the booster spray. Several people were initially very interested and purchased a package, but have not inquired about purchasing another 3 pack session. I am planning on offering an EFT membership for $199/month (max 15 sessions/every other day). Let's see if that generates business. My only concern at this point is the "hype" on burning 1000s of calories. I can't sell something I'm not sure is accurate information. My daughter bought me a Polar watch with monitor and I used it in a FIT wrap session last night. In 1 hr I burned 176 calories. A far cry from the 1000s of calories advertised. Will be calling the company to find out how they got their numbers. Just some FYIs for you all out there.
