Sunstar Speed System ZX32 3F - changing tan time - tanTALK

I currently own two Sunstar Speed System ZX32 3F (year 2000) beds; beds were relamped in April 2009 with Velocity Plus for bench and canopy and Radiance 400 watt facials. Session time is 20 minutes. I would like to khow if it is possible to change the bed to what I would consider a level 2 bed with a 15 minute tan time. I am in Iowa and know we are regulated in the strength of lamps we can use. So, my questions are:
1. What type of lamps would I use to change the bed from a 20 minute tan time to 15 minute tan time.
2. Is there a way to change the configuration of the bed to accept this – meaning do I need to have something special on the bed that says it is now a level 2 bed?
3. When clients turn on the bed now it automatically sets to 20 minutes (I do not have this set up on a timer by my desk, as I am a very small salon with 4 beds) – can I change this setting?

In a regulated state it may be tuff to get away with it.

Also, the face tanners would need some decent work to get them to a 15 min TE from 20. Sure, you could just leave them but then clients would get 25% less tan time on the face and they may notice it.

Also, if they are manually controlled by the client (surprising if your regulated) then there is no way to do it. The timer chips on those ETS Sunstars are likely soldered on.

The bed time is controlled in the ballast tray. There is a small little pigtail that plugs into the board. ETS tech service can tell you where it is and they can sell you the right pigtail to change the bed time. its a very easy change... as easy as changing a ballast. I just did this on another bed, i changed it back to 20 minutes because it had been changed to a 15 minute time. the part was less than $10.00

The SunStar ZX32 is not the same as a SunStar 32. No ballast tray as far as I know. Also there is no pig-tail on these boards.

I WAS talking about a ZX32. I just changed the time on a 2005 ZX32-3F. I am a certified ETS tech and know this can be done. perhaps if you list the year of the bed your trying to change it would help you get the right info. You also would save yourself a lot of time by just calling ETS service. Youre going to need to do this anyway to get the right part. If you are running any software like suntouch or salon touch you can set the maximum tan time IN that software

Perhaps you should try reading. It says year 2000.

Second, and of course you would know this, the max time set by the software is only a secondary fail safe. If the bed is hardwired to run at 15 setting 20 in the software will not allow it to go to 20.

By the way, there is no such thing as an 2005 ZX32. "ZX line" was dropped in 04.
