Rep Power: 0 | used equipment ratings would anyone care to rate used equipment in the form of what to stay away from or what (in each of your own opinions) would be good, better, best? I think this would be a helpful post to those of us who are not familiar with all that is out there and do not have the option of using or trying out the different brands. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: used equipment ratings I agree. There are so many out there and so much for sale. What about the ETS equipment, the sunstars and sunpowers. What about the 2M standups by heartland, the ovations by heartland, Ergos and Tan Americas, Santa Barbara and Catalinas., the Suncapsule standups or Sundome standups I'm currently looking at some of these brands and open to more! |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: used equipment ratings ETS has come a long way since the early-nineties to early 2000s. The "dark ages" of ETS so to speak. Either way, I am not a fan of ETS. I have the equipment and it just poorly designed. That said, for a small salon with lower volume the equipment may be ok, it just does not work well for back to back sessions. I push mine hard and I am always having heat related issue even with rooms larger than average.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: used equipment ratings Are the beds themselves getting too hot and not being able to be used until it cools or are you referring to the heat it generates causing the salon to become too hot? Thanks for responding being that you use the beds on a daily basis. I will absolutely take that into account! |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: used equipment ratings I am talking internal temps of the beds. The rooms get warm but the building is good at keeping that in check. I have just had issues with parts melting, cables breaking down and frequent replacement of ignitors. Voltage checks were always within spec. ETS says rooms are too small, but at 10 by 12 they should be plenty big. As mentioned here and there, tanning beds are just giant lighting fixtures with cooling systems. To put it simply. But how they cool can affect the components and the experience of the client. As with most electronics, heat is a bad thing. So good beds have internal cooling setups that work well and thus should last longer. They also can handle back to back sessions better. Make sense?
