Rep Power: 22 | Its official, my Heraeus Lamps Suck I re-lamped the ENITER salon. Now the lamps all have 100+ hours of usage. The beds are working great, just as they have since day one. 18 minute beds with Mid-Day Sun 5.0 and Heraeus Magic Sun Plus face tanners. With new acrylics these things are tanning people wonderfully. But then there are the 10 minute stand-ups. Ran then at 8 minutes max at first since 10 was burning even the staff. At about 60 hours we went back up to 10 because people were not getting the tan they expected. After myself using the beds for a month to compare to stand-ups I can say there is something wrong with these lamps OR they just are not a good lamp. I have actually started to lose my tan! There are 160Watt reflectors, the same spec that was in there. Before it has Bronzing Sun lamps from Wolff and they worked great right up to the end. They did not get nearly as hot and provided a darker tan then the beds, which at the time have Velocity Plus 100 watt. So as the next season approaches I am thinking I am going to have to dump these. Big waste of money really. Any suggestions as to what I can put in and run these at 8 or 10 minutes while providing MORE tanning, less burning power than the Mid-Day 5.0? These will be going in an 04 SunDome 48 lamp stand-up which we sell as a level above the laydowns.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Its official, my Heraeus Lamps Suck Its a 220V running at 235 via booster (all boosters were just tested two months ago for output). The lamps are 160 watt reflector Heraeus MagicSun 23. My clients like to switch up beds, often between these two in the past. Before they got darker, or so they felt, in the Stand-up. But as with most stand-ups the legs have a hard time tanning so they would go in the beds to help even things up. More than a few of these switchers have switched to the beds for good. Normally I would have shrugged this off as needed break in time but months later there are more and more saying the beds give them better color. Thats why I decided to give a month in the beds a try against a month in the stand-ups. Going three times a week at full time in each - actually the beds are ran at 18 instead of 20 still!!! I wish I had a meter to get some exact output!

Rep Power: 23 | Re: Its official, my Heraeus Lamps Suck Unity the problem may be that you made the base beds too good with the Midday Sun's as compared to the old Velocity's in there. The Magic Sun 23/160R should give plenty of color in that booth in 10 minutes. It's about 3.9% UVB, where the Bronzing Sun lamps are closer to 3% UVB. Have you checked the voltage lately? |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Its official, my Heraeus Lamps Suck Why? Number of lamps? Well everything was gone through voltage wise about two months ago. We have 240 coming into the building (yes, it is true 240 3-phase). I should have said it was being bucked down to 235, not up. I found the actual reading for this room and it was putting out 232 to be exact. I suppose I can check them both again, there are two of these and they are exactly the same with the same lamps, etc.

400 Amp; Phase 3 @240 Volt. Even the regular outlets read about 115 to 118 volt.
