Facial bulb...unit or facial

Replaced a facial bulb in a Dr Kern 32/3. Its a plug in 'fat phillips'. It makes a 'buzzing' noise but does not quite light up all the way. I tried two different ones. Could both bulbs be bad or is something wrong with the facial unit? Both bulbs do the exact same thing. Thanks for any help

If the ends of the old lamp were still shiney and you were observant enough to notice whether or not the lampholders were still clean and smooth, then it's an ignitor. A bad lampholder is the other thing that will cause that buzzing sound and a partial light.

Its a plug in, I think what you describe is for clip-in, right? The spring loaded ones?

Ok. I did not think the plug in had that problem.

Re: Facial bulb...unit or facial

The lamp is in the lampholder crooked or the lampholder is bad. If you hear a buzz then most likely the ignitor is still good but will cook everything soon if not addressed.

Re: Facial bulb...unit or facial

I guess I better call Sarge/Jeff then. I have replaced most of the lamp holders in the Dr Kerns, probably the one holdout that did not need to get changed. I know its not crooked. I took the bulb out 10 different times in case it was a bad connection . Tried with 2 different bulbs also. Thanks for the input

If the lampholder looks good, it is good. You just have to look at it. Change the ignitor if you know how.

If Jeff actually returns your call, tell him I have been trying to find him for the last 6 months. We have some business to finish and I am getting REALLY ****** at this piont. He is costing me a lot of money.
