connecting questar db10000 to sundash 40

we just acquired a super sundash 40 that has an Intellitan plus timer on the bed. we have the Questar Database 10000 timing system. i am unsure of how to connect the two. from the wall switch in the room i have 2 wires coming out to connect into the bed. does anyone have some helpful info?

Re: connecting questar db10000 to sundash 40

You have the old style data base if you have two wires coming out of the switch and you don't have the easy connect box. Call Sundash and ask them what port and position you put the by pass in the phone jack. Also you may need to go and get a door bell transformer or something to get this to work. I can't picture this bed so I'm not sure which way you will need to do this. Check under the left side of the bed and see if you have 3 phone jack ports or on the top of the bed under the plastic. I can prolly help you after I know the situation. Sundash/Ergo should be able to talk you through it though.

Re: connecting questar db10000 to sundash 40

thanks for the response. i have been trying everywhere. i finally got through to sundash. i have not tried this yet but i will tonight. they said to use the larger of the three data jacks which is a standard size rj11 phone jack. wire the outside two positions with the wiring from the wall switch. that is if the wiring coming from the switch is between 5 and 48 volts. then change the settings on the bed. i will try and see if it works.

yes, that should work but you may need a small transformer this, I used a door bell transformer before and it worked, just broke one of the lines coming from the data base switch.

Re: connecting questar db10000 to sundash 40

i found on the switch that i have 4 wires from the database. 2 pair - 1 pair is 14v and the other is 28 volts. the two output wires was the hot leg of the bed. when the switch activated it shorted the hot leg of the bed so the bed came on. so i did not need those two wires. i have wired the 14v pair of the wires to the two outside positions of the rj11 (6port) jack on the bed. it worked. but my issues now are that the bed only monitors this voltage for a change. so when the database is first turned on there is a change in voltage. or if someone uses the switch on the bed to turn it off then the timer runs out there is a change and the bed comes back on. i will try the 28 volt side to see if it is more stable changes.

Re: connecting questar db10000 to sundash 40

everything works correctly now. i hooked the 28 volt pair of wires from the database to the two outside ports of the rj11 (6 wire) port on the bed and everything is working correctly.
