Question TanAmerica DelRey

Hey, just wondering if anybody is having problems with their bulbs dying really early, like around the 300hr mark?

Re: TanAmerica DelRey

Wow, I thought I was the only one. I have 364 hours on our delray, I have lost 15 or so bulbs, and I have 6 warps in my acrylic from the bulbs cooking them selves. Tanamerica is currently working on the problem, I hope. I've changed a couple ballasts and still I'm losing bulbs everyday. I currently have our delray shut down because I'm waiting on new bulbs. This is the heart of our season so this is killing me.

See if any of your bulbs that have turned pitch black on the ends have gotten so hot that they are cracking or causing little pinholes in them. I spoke to Erik at TA yesterday and I emailed them some pictures of the acrylic and the bulbs and they are looking into whether or not the bulbs were defective.

Re: TanAmerica DelRey

The ballast simply suck in those beds. Don't expect more than 400 hrs in any lamp you use. Try the LSI Signature Series Plus VHOR/RS lamp in there, They seem to hold up well, but don't expect miracles. TA is finally switching from the 1970's ballast to some new Electronic ballast in some units. These will give a better lamp life.

Uh Oh, I'm on my way to the salon. They just called me and told me The TA SunUp II and one of the TA Catalinas each have two bulbs out. Gremlins, I swear!
