Rep Power: 0 | Same beds that tan different?? I have 3 of the same beds (32 lamp Tan America), they were all purchased at the same time and the lamps were all changed at the same time, and all have about the same amount of hours on them but they each tan differently. I've had people tan 10 min in one bed with no burning and then the next day tan 10 min in a different bed and they burn. This is not just one person, there have been alot of people with the same results, and everyone has their favorite bed. This is so weird! Why would one bed tan better than another when they are all the same? What would cause this? The one bed that tends to burn people more is in an end room and the walls are only lowered on 2 sides instead of 3, could this be the problem? |

If they are REAL COLD they may never reach optimal output till the second tanner. Always run the beds 10min or so when you open so no one is getting scamed OR put a "nutty" tanner that THINKS they want 20min or so in the cold bed so they don't burn up. |

For one, it saves on the heating bill, and two customers are not getting into an ice box. But as Engfant said, its all about the beds recent activity. But if its pretty clear that bed C is ALWAYS hotter than A you may want to check the voltage going to the bed.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Same beds that tan different?? A visit for the same amount of time on the second day may acuually appear to give you more. You body goes through the tanning process for up to 48 hours. The second day you are putting exposure on top of exposure. The third room is probably getting hotter just due to design. Not being smart but this is not something that I have heard before so i am asking not calling anyone out. If i have a bed that is wired wrong will it really put out more heat? Damage the unit yes, but more heat? Also time and time again a customer will swear a unit that gets hotter (due to room design) is a better bed when it is the same. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Same beds that tan different?? Well we have a bed, #4, darn thing always got hot. Now that I own the place I dived in to figure out why, I always noticed the beds fans sounded faster. Sure enough, getting an extra 25 to 30 volts above the ideal 230v mark. It looks like the buck booster was wired to step up instead of down. I have a couple recent threads covering this. But yes, more heat for sure. The lamps have even blackened at the ends a bit and the face tanners are looking like blow-fish. We dont use the bed now unless it has plenty of cool down and then only if we need it until the electrician comes. Originally we did think it was simply a matter of location seeing that its in the middle of the building. But the bed next to it does not have a heat/power issue.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Same beds that tan different?? Well for TopBreeze, we need some voltage readings to be totally sure things are not getting more than they need. For me, I need to shot the idiot that worked on the building last time and created a wild leg adding extra voltage to my bed. Very fixable but not for me to play with! In fact, I think the distributor sold the prior owner the wrong buck boosters. Then buck down 12 volts from 250. 238 volt is "ok" but the bed needs 220 to 230. Every volt can add to problems. I also found out today that this bed has had its main computer replaced twice! $600 per CPU.
