WE are purchasing a tanning salon and the beds that are in there are approx. 10 years old. They are SCA Wolff Series III 324SL. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of these beds and how they perform. We are going to have all new equipment within the next year - we would like these to make it one more season. We also have been looking at ets beds - until we have seen the feedback on this site - now I think we will look farther. There is also a Starflightv91 bed there - any thoughts on that one?

Thanks!

The SCA beds are ETS beds. For what you need them for, to last the year, they will be fine. I would concentrate replacing them at the end of the next season, once you are established. The Starflight is made by uwe. A German bed, and good performer. Depending on the age, in time you may want to replace it, though, that should be your last concern. It has 140w lamps and true 140w ballast. You may want to replace the lamps in all the beds as the new season begns.

Have you considered what beds you would purchas when time? I would suggest; Sontegra, uwe, or Future Line. Though there are many more top performers, I find the mentioned three offer the quality, selection and more important service to be profitable.

SCA beds are not ETS beds. SCA turned into Sonnenbraune.

I thought SCA was made by Sun Industries. I had a whole bunch of SCa 424SL's that were made by Sun. What is the linkage to Sonnenbraune?

I STARTED MY FIRST SALON WITH USED SCA BEDS. Save your $$ from your first season and start replacing them. I started replacing mine with newer bigger beds, but i still bought used equipment to save $$.
