You'll have to find something that pulls 16-17 amps max. Are you looking to upgrade entry level units ot looking for an upgrade bed? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: what is the best bed I brought in 2 32 bulb focus beds no face , they replaced 2 24 bulbs sunvision, i wanted something to replace the last sunvision with something that i could get a better per tan price. having only 200 amps is really rough. toby at ergoline emailed me about a new electronic ballast 32 bulb and a 32 bulb Magnum same type of thing, both VHR tops, I was wondering if anyone has anything new, since i don't owner my building the owner will most likey not put in much needed 3 phase. so i have to look at my options for what i call an upgrade for my senario |

Power consumption was drawing 190-196 amps per leg.Im sure if we started all the beds at exactly the same time it would have blown the main.Fortunately now have room for one more. In general you can add/subtract 10% from service capacity.A 200 amp service can safely handle anywhere from 180-220amps depending on the condition of the system.I've seen 3 phase l handle 225 continuously for many years. | |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: what is the best bed If you have a 200 amp 3 phase service you have 600 amps available at SF (less 20% 480amp to be legal and not pop the main) this can be pushed. You need to calculate how much you are drawing and then determine what can be added. Especially when it comes to little beds like those discussed that is drawing 20-25 amps at startup on one leg of your service. If you had only that type of bed you could load 19.2 of those beds onto your service. Problem is you have to subtract lighting, computers, HVAC, blah blah prior to calculating. So real world you can likely get 10 on that service. If you have commercial property with 200 amp single phase (highly unlikely and uncommon) you are really in trouble with a tanning salon. 200 amps runs my house. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: what is the best bed yes tansource i have a single phase 200 amp panel that i upgraded from a 100 amp years ago and yes i feel trouble, i want to take out my last sunvission and put in something that gives the feel of a bigger bed, i started with 8 sunvision beds many moons ago and upgraded the panel so i could add my suncapsuple and i have 2 beds that use a 30 amp breaker, the rest run on 20 i know my load so i have to pretty much make a straight trade on electric for a bed. I already have a sunsource which is one of my 30 amp beds, what i am really asking is for a cosmetic upgrade that i am sure will have more than 24 bulbs. obviously no face tanners, but a nice impressive look. The landlord doesn't get that i am out of electric, 8 business share 800 amps total i have taken the most my main will allow. |
