Rep Power: 19 | Electronic Ballast?? http://www.tanamerica.com/salonelectricalpower.html Here is TA website claiming that these ballast accomplish this. Is this BS or is there any truth to it. I can see a few claims, but some of the others are a little out there if you ask me. Rob

Rep Power: 29 | Re: Electronic Ballast?? I'm sure it tans but what does it meter? What lamps can you use? I can see this being an attack on ERGOSLIME and their "base" beds that require a 40amp breaker. Normal 32 lamp 100watt beds don't need more than a 20amp breaker. Their numbers on that chart are kinda goofy. How does a 32lamp 100watt setup draw 4000watts again? 32x100 =3200watts /230volts = 13.9amps NOT 21.09 like they say. The difference between 13.9 and 11 amps is a nightlight. As in NOTHING. |

Rep Power: 35 | Re: Electronic Ballast?? The most noticeable difference is how bright the lamps are. Also they power up instantly unlike magnetic ballasts. The bed runs extremely quiet and you don't feel any heat in the room at all.

Rep Power: 19 | Re: Electronic Ballast?? Again, I read this and it all seems like smoke and mirrors. Its almost the same thing as what TA is saying on thier website. One thing that confuses me is that there are either "magnetic ballast or choke ballast". I have never heard of a magnetic choke ballast before. Am I missing something????

Rep Power: 29 | Re: Electronic Ballast?? No. It's called they are so lazy that they didn't bother to actually do any work. Just shove them both in the same cell to prove a point...that people do not read anything. Like I said above, they OVERstated the savings in a big way. They combined magnetic and choke ballasts like they are the same when they are FAR FROM. Just to show that there is some significant $$$ savings. There isn't. You save money by running efficient equipment. Not cutting corners. NOW, I have never used this and it MIGHT BE a good setup. BUT I do know that this electronic ballast idea has been around for a while and no one seems to be jumping on the bandwagon which seems to tell me that the benefits were exaggerated at best. Also, name one lamp that's even designed to use an electronic ballast? Do we need to buy new lamp tips to make these things work? They might be good beds, they might actually work fine BUT like hybrid cars, the ASSUMED benefits are nonexistant. |

Rep Power: 35 | Re: Electronic Ballast?? I know when I first started researching salons I couldn't get a disty anywhere that could find me an electronic ballast. Now I know there are more then 3 different companies making them. So the demand is growing. Electronic ballasts take the magnetic rays out of the bed which is healthier for you. Yes its small amounts and in some cases further from your body...but it is better for you to have electronic.
