soltron shark

Thinking of buying this unit. Can someone give me your input on this unit? How much should I expect to pay?

Re: soltron shark

Check with Ergoline/Soltron. You can buy them for a lot less than $32,000. I bet you can wheel and deal and get it for less then $25,000. Like Enfant says, be prepared to replace a lot of acrylics. Like every 300 to 500 hours.

Re: soltron shark

All of the Soltron beds use a flat acrylic that has no support other than the acrylic itself. The weight of the tanner causes the acrylic to weather check internally (spider-web, cracked ice). It's not a matter of if, but when. If you can get 500 hours on the acrylic, consider youself lucky. I replaced all of my 9 acrylics about 9 months ago and they need replacing again. If your considering Soltron, look at replacing the acrylics everytime you do a lamp change, if not sooner. Ask anyone who has Soltron equipment and they will tell you the same thing.

Re: soltron shark

If you are buying new tell them no deal unless they give a 1000hr warranty on the acrylic or something along those lines.

What are we talking, $900 each?

Re: soltron shark

I think they've come down in price a little. They were over $1000 each, now I think 8 or 9 hundred for the touchdown and hot pepper. The wave and the bigger beds are still over $1000.
