Rep Power: 0 | Soltron Beds?? I've been doing searches on this forum so I don't post a topic that has already been posted. I am looking into some Soltron beds but have read some things about acrylics cracking. Does anyone know if this was really a wide spread problem and if it was have they fixed it?? |

The company has replaced some of the bad acrylics, but as expected will drag it's feet. A good distributor is utmost important. I have Soltron equipment (9 beds), and all nine acrylics were replaced 10 months ago. They are in need of replacement again, but I don't expect I will get them replaced again under warrantee. I know of another salon owner in my state, that has exactly the same situation. He bought 13 soltron beds and soon after had to replace all 13 acrylics. He is now also waiting for a response from Soltron on when he could expect an answer on replacement again. As far as I know, Soltron has done nothing to fix the underlying reason why these acrylics always crack. The reason is that there is no support under the acrylic and you just have a big piece of plastic supporting the entire weight of a tanner. Of course, it is straining the plastic and causing spiderwebbing (cracked ice effect), internal to the acrylic. Other than the acrylic problem ( a big one), I am basiclly happy with the equipment. Would I buy them again? NOT!! |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Soltron Beds?? I was told by my distributor that if I was to pay for all the acrylics on my 9 beds, that cost would be $11,000. The acrylic for my big vhr bed (the Wave) was near $2000 alone. Last edited by parrot head; 03-29-2007 at 11:53 AM. Reason: spelling |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Soltron Beds?? I was told that Loop acrylics in Chicago might be able to make the acrylics for the Soltron beds. The problem here is that the acrylic comes attached to a pressure fitted metal frame used for attacting the acrylic to the bed. I would have to send the old acrylic w/frame to Loop and then my bed would be out of service for quite some time. I really can't afford to have that much down time. Soltron knew that they would be the exclusive outlet for these acrylics and the company is making a killing off these parts. If it sounds like I could be a little bitter, I am.
