Relamping!!!!!Help

I need nice regular puretan bulbs!!!!!!!!!!!but cheaper isnt always better. I need some feed back on what everyone else is liking right now. I have gotten a few quotes but then when i check with major tanning suppliers that I use, they dont carry them. Is that because they are not anygood. Because they are discontinued???????.
There are so many kinds. yes 73 and yes HO, but which one!!!!!!!!!!! Cosmolux, Wolf Velocity, Summer Sun (HUH) ?????
I am also going to purchase a meter that will start to take the quess work out of this whole relamping business, one bed at a time.
Anyone have some recommendations!!!!!thanks

Re: Relamping!!!!!Help

I called them for more lamps a month ago. Twice. Never got a call back. I bought elsewhere.

Some of the best on the market right now are the cosmolux, they tend to last. I run them now - I love them I have never had a problem with them. And you are right cheaper not always better. Try a couple different brands in a couple of your beds and test them regularly every month after cleaning your bulbs and acrylics make sure to reverse your blubs monthly when cleaning. Don't forget to replace the starters at the same time if needed when replacing your bulbs. When you test them you will know which ones last longer for you and your clients.

IMO Cosmulux is no longer the best. I have switched to Light Source lamps. I get longer hours. Customers love them.

Re: Relamping!!!!!Help

There are many choices for the Puretan units. The original Puretan Lamps are made by LSI & had about a 5% UVB. The Wolff Velocity should not even be considered, it is a beginner lamp. The Summer Sun is a PL lamp made by LSI.

If these are for standard HO non Reflectors here are some good choices:
LSI Midday Sun F73 (1000 hrs)
Heraeus 100 T5.0 (1000 hrs)
Cal Tan Helio 73/5.0 (1000 hrs)
Philips Advantage F73 (800 hrs)
Cosmolux ESP F73 (800 hrs)
Wolff Dominion F73 (800 hrs)
Brilliance F73/50 (800 hrs)

Re: Relamping!!!!!Help

ok thanks everyone. pamela, I never did changed the the starters. when i changed out all the bulbs on the bed and took a reading from the git with my new meter. I will do that asap!!!! Never crossed my mind that it would make a difference. I have 4 more purtans to relamp, and john i think i will take you advice and just go with different lamps for each bed and conduct my own experiment. LOL thanks everyone.

Re: Relamping!!!!!Help

Philips now has paperwork on the advantage 808 73 inch lamps to the S plus lamp that puretan was using. It is stronger and lasts in their beds well
