Bronzing beds

Hi, I am new to this forum and had a couple of questions I hope someone can answer for me.

My husband and I are looking into opening our own tanning salon and have been doing a lot of reading and research. Until this past weekend, I thought I had figured out the new trends in the industry, however, now I am not sure I do!

I am a tanner. I have been told that bronzing beds(high pressure) give the best tan (thereby the best investment in a new salon is more high pressure beds and only 2 or 3 lower end beds at most). I was told by salon owners from salons I've been to that it was faster, deeper, safer, and longer lasting and just in general, a nicer color in a hp/bronzing bed.

Well, the salon I go to now seems to have a different opinion than that of the others I have gone to. They have only one bronzing bed and it was down for two months. I noticed a huge difference in my tan! When they finally got it up and running again, I went in it 4 times in about ten days. Already, I noticed a big difference and was much darker. On my 5th trip in after it was fixed, I was told that the manager left me a note saying that I'd been using the bronzing bed too much and that I needed to use another bed or I was going to turn a...quote....funny color if I didn't mix my usage with other beds.

Now I am left wondering.....is it really best to invest in mostly bronzing beds if a mix of beds is best and also is this salon owner out of line in telling me that 4 times in 10 days is too much in a bronzing bed and I'll end up a funny color? The 'funny color' I notice happens to be a better tan than when the bronzer was out of service so I am not buying her reasoning in the least. I must be twice as dark as before....in only 4 visits and am very happy with my coloring.

I'd really like to hear others opinions on high pressure/bronzing beds and how they work, if they should be rotated with other beds, etc. Even a link that explains more about this would be great.

Thanks,
Deb.
