Rep Power: 21 | How can you have a 20 min. 160W in the canopy and 100 W in the bench setup? The Ergo Ambition 300 come in 15 or 20 min. setup. What lamps could be used? It seems to me that any 160 W 20 minutes would give crazy color. Especially with a close canopy. |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: How can you have a 20 min. 160W I'm surprised that this unit could of passed with these exposure times with 160 watt lamps in it. For instance there are like a few units with 160,140's on top and 100's on the bottom. The Kern 42-4 is that way and its a 11 min exposure max. In Germany it's 10min. I've never agreed with that set up in the first place. I've been asked the queston (why do the put 160's on the top and 100's on the bottom) the only half way decent answer is could come up with was that the lamps on the canopy are further away from your body when you are tanning. Still I think this in the wrong way to engineer a bed.... just my thoughts |

I would have to visually look at the size of the ballast again. You know, because Ergo plays games with getting salon owners to think the units are stronger then they are. GOD FORBID the ballast and lamps should actually be posted with their real power. Now keep in mind that a TRUE 160W unit with a 160W ballast still could never get close to a 20 minute tan time even with one of the gentler New Era lamps on the market. The Gentlest New Era 160W lamps would still come in at a 12-14 min TE time depending on the lamps being used. Again, this is for a true 160W unit that is run in the 230V-240V range. Could something with less B come to the USA market. Sure, but I would not buy it. I dont need a 160W unit running a high 20 minute session. Screw that!!!!!! |
