I currently am able to join a salon for 19 a month for unlimited Tanning, however it is for '' Bronze Level'' and they have higher Level Beds such as:Gold,Silver,Patinum, and Titanium, now I know this isnt a strong bed but if Say I went Every other day wouldnt I be able to get about the same color of using the higher beds? thanks.

Re: Question about Bed Levels

You shouldn't "aim" for going that much. Getting Dark as $hit -quick as possible- is not the goal. Maintaining your base tan so you don't have to "hurry up and tan every day" should be the goal--not to mention the not so terrible (and getting less terrible with science every day) effects exposing yourself to ultra-violet light has on the body, mind and soul. You can go less often using a nicer/better bed--as long as it is pumping wattage out of kickin' lamps--Try taking a tan in a High Pressure Bed--that will make a believer out of you--see the difference a lamp/upgrade bed makes. Start talking to the people behind the counter and ask them why you should tan in an upgrade--surely they are tanning in them selves and can see the difference. if the people behind the counter are not talking to you and trying to and come up with the best way for you to get the results you want--PICK ANOTHER SALON--PRONTO--don't waste your cash there--you probably won't get a tan from any bed they have.

Re: Question about Bed Levels

I believe you were already at a much better salon, acourding to another one of your posts. you felt it was too expensive.

Here is the low down.
Going on a cheaper bed usualy meens your dealing with a base unit. In my opinion, there realy is only 3 levels. Base unit, = beds that have 24-36 lamps, ranging from 80-120 watt lamps. second level being VHR 38-50 lamps, being 160 watt-200 watt lamps. third level High Pressure tanning. Basicly with a base unit, it may apear to be less expensive but you need to go minimum 3 times a week, sometimes every other day to get your tan, For a whole month, (factor in the lotion you will use , about 15 oz or 2 bottles of lotion and travel cost as the gas is getting expensive) then you need to maintain that tan 2 times per week. so factor in another bottle of lotion for each month, plus travel time. Your skin will thinken , you begin to look like a leather hide bag. VHR, you only need to tan 3 times per week for a month to get your color (12 oz of lotion a bottle and a half) then you only need to come once per week to maintain your color ( 4 oz of lotion 1/2 bottle per month) you color lasts a little longer because the Uvb isn't as strong as the base unit, but uva is much higher, meaning you brown faster. Lastly, HP units. you only need 3-5 sessions in 10 days and your tanned. (max half bottle of lotion and factor in travel expense) then you only need to come 1-3 times per month to keep your tan. Thats a bottle of lotion every 3-8 months) And you don't look like a leather hide bag because there is such a low uvb that your skin does't thicken, and your tan lasts soooooooo much longer. I went 14 weeks without tanning after only going 4 sessions on HP, and I still had a tan (very visable tantoo)
