Rep Power: 0 | Lamps... to reflect or not to reflect is the question at hand? so I was reading all the comments on the reflector vs non-reflector lamps from back in february's debate... 3 pages of discussion, confusion and no real answers... I know this was a good debate back in February with no clear answer... so a question... to reflect or not to reflect, that is the question at hand... any harm puting reflector lamps in a bed with or without reflector material behind the lamps? Why would anyone want to do this... simple... in theory... say you have a 20 minute bed without reflectors... put a non-reflective lamp in... you have a base bed, put a reflective lamp in... it becomes a step up from base... maybe a level two bed as (Theory says 20% productive output with a reflector lamp over non-reflector lamp) Same could be done with a 20 minute bed that has reflectors in it... put non-reflector lamps and its a 20 minute bed, put reflective lamps in, and presto its a 15 minute bed, well 16 actually for a standup booth... you have tanners, and you have power tanners... put a reflective lamp in and you might be able to cut time and increase produtivity by 20%:O if I understand all the technical rationale... that 10 minute boot just became an 8 with the same results, and higher throughput SO what if any is the downside? to using R -lamps, they usually cost the same, have the same estimated life, but increase output, bed productivity, which should equal profit.... Feel free to point out any errors in this logic?? I would like to know if anyone that has done this, has experienced any kind of overheating or increase in temperature which should decrease the life expectancy of the lamp. |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: Lamps... to reflect or not to reflect is the question at hand? RUVA lamps cost more, about 20% more radiance, last about as long as any other lamp, generate more heat in the direction of the tanner, are sometimes not appropriate for booths that can't vent the heat fast enough, are not compliant with 360 degree lamps.... |
