Ok so I have 4 100w beds (2 running velocity and 2 running velocity plus) kind of level 1 and 2, then a 160w stand up (with bronzing sun HPK90), all need to be relamped, so I call over to Uvulax (cause they are close, 15 minute drive) and the sales rep tells me my choices are Velocity, Velocity Plus for the 100w beds and bronzing sun 160w for the standup. (who'd a guessed, thats whats in them now)

I was kind of hoping for a little better selection, and maybe get a little nicer lamps, you know more bang for the buck, nicer tan cheaper price, (any suggestions appreciated, since I cannot find a price to usability matrix for tanning lamps on the net) HINT: HINT: someone needs to make one :sarcasm:

But eventually we get on to the bronzing sun's.. and well they have a special, a new bronzing sun lamp (4000 hr rating) for $28 bucks... a whole $1 more than regular bronzing sun 1000 hr rating .... ohhh, I am all intersted until... that famous word comes out of her mouth.... GUARANTEED!!! and thats when I felt like guppie being realed into the deep ocean fishing boat... ROFLMAO:lol:

NOW, if there was a good 4000hr lamp... I would think I would read about it hear and it would be the talk of tantalk. so I said to her "I doubt they will light up for 4000 hrs, what kind of guarantee do I get they will tan?", and with that she hung up on me....

Now that you have stopped laughing... seriously... I need to relamp the beds with some decent lamps... and I dont mind paying for longevity and quality, but price to performance always counts in my book... but please dont try to sell me your used lamps with a GUARANTEE:O

any experienced suggestion would be appreciated

I got some 4000hr lamps too. I'll sell them for $14/lamp and they are TRUE cosmedicos. I'll even write on the side of the lamp 40000000HRS!!!!!


I think they were going to sell you regular florescent lamps. You were wise to turn them down.

If you REALLY want a 1000hr 20min lamp, go with Cosmedico Goldariums.

They last forever.

No joke... 4000 hours was the sales pitch... I was a little shocked she hung up on me... but then she probably new she was not getting this guppie hooked on the line.

I dont mind the velocity series (but then UValux is close) and shipping lamps always seems to create an issue when they get here and are cracked or broke.

I need to expand my horizons and was looking for a change to try... unfortunately no one around me carries light source... so I am trying to go outside my current local distributors to get a source. The big question is who, who do I try... the customers are used to the velocity, velocity plus and bronzing sun... so I dont want to go to a new lamp with out some expert experienced advice... last thing I want is customers to complain... as it is I will have a battle with them wanting their regular 20-30 minutes (currently on bad lamps, 7.0 meter puts them all at about a 7 reading) into a bed with new bulbs metering out at say 18 or so.
