Sol Glass Getting Complaints from Clients

Sol Glass 160's were tanning amazing up until the last 2 weeks. I stated in another thread that at almost 300 hours they were still kicking, and now a little over 300 hours and i'm getting complaints.

I go check them out with my 5.0 meter and sure enough they are still kicking, so what's the problem? I'm guessing the UVB is dropping.

It's pretty bad when clients are asking to go in a bed with velocity 160's with almost 700 hours instead of the sol glass with just over 300?

Big test was this very fair redhead who tans occaisonally. She came this week and told me " Wow, i'm usually all freckled and red after one 6 min session but this week i went 6 min then 10 min and still nothing!"

Guess I'll be swapping out the sol glass alot sooner than i had hoped.........

Weird how a lamp that's hardly dropped 10 - 15% on my meter is getting complaints like that. Live and learn i guess....

Re: Sol Glass Getting Complaints from Clients

What bed do you have them in? What lamps did you have in it before? Did you meter them with the 5.0 after a couple of hours after you installed them if so what did you get and what do you get now? Just curious cause I know lightsource spent a lot of money on the add campaign I can't imagine they did not test them. Not saying this is not happening to you.

Re: Sol Glass Getting Complaints from Clients

I have them in a sunstar 432 3f, I metered them new, at ~100hrs and at ~275hrs is when i had posted that they hardly dropped (new = 48, 100hrs = 46, 275hrs = 44). This past week i measured again and they were still over 45 but like I said, clients are saying they're not getting anything out of them?

Re: Sol Glass Getting Complaints from Clients

Their probably used to a more aggressive, higher "traditional" UVB and expect more instant gratification.

Re: Sol Glass Getting Complaints from Clients

I have had customers tell me that my lamps (SolGlass) included that they weren't getting any color. I ask them if they use a Tantoo Sticker, and 100% of the time, they don't. I tell them to start using one and come back and tell me what the results were. Every one of them has a nice tan line when they start using the stickers. It is such a gradual tan ( Not Burn) that they don't even realize that they are tanned. This is only after a few tans too, not over a month period.

I imagine that lamps are still tanning, obviously. But the redhead who didn't get anything, not even a little red makes me weary. She should have got something. the last time she came she went half the time and was rosy.

She wasn't rosy with heat?

I agree with you, there must be something going on here. I will ask around to see if I can get you an answer.

Re: Sol Glass Getting Complaints from Clients

I usually put newbies to start in another bed because the lamps are so much older and meter alot less than the sol glass. After a few sessions I let them go wherever and alot of them have been saying the other (weaker lamped) bed gives more color.

I will have to do a 'test" so to speak and get one of my friends to tan soley with the sol glass to see. My wife and i aren't good for the test as we get color from a 100 watt bulb, lol

Don't base it on one client, people are demented.
