does anyone know what wattage the lamps are for a 1996 puretan 36 lamp bed (i think its the ellipse 2).

Ellipse beds normally had 160W in the top and 100W in the bench.

Ed is correct. :) The Ellipse 2 was 160W in the canopy and 100W in the couch. You say you think it is an Ellipse 2. If you are not 100% sure you should just take a look at the ballasts. It may be a California 36 bed, in which case you may very well have a 100w system.

But the Ellipse has more lamps! It must be the Cal 36 all 100w.

Ellipse 2's were 36 lamps. The Ellipse 3 and 4 are 42 lamp systems.
