Rep Power: 20 | Difference between 400w and 500w lamps? I noticed that 400w and 500w clip ins are the same size, and was wondering if there is a big difference in the ballasts? Reason i ask..... When we bought our beds, my disty said they were going to turn a 15min bed into a 12min bed by changing out the canopy tubes from 100w to 160w's...fine but the facial lamps never changed? So are people getting ripped 3 min of proper facial tanning? Should there be a stronger lamp in there? I'm wondering if there "should have been" 500w lamps in there instead of 400w? |

My bigger issue is who the **** are you dealing with that think they can just swap out 100watt lamps for 160watt lamps? The amount of additional cooling needed (seeing these things are going to put out 60watts of additional heat per lamp) and the gauge wire to handle the current are probably not going to work for very long in a 100watt environment.

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Difference between 400w and 500w lamps? I'm sorry, I didn't explain it right. My disty didn't just "decide" to turn a 20 min bed into a 12. The option came from the manufacturer. The bed is made for 160's in the canopy. What bothers me is the fact that the bed can be purchased with 160's in the canopy or with 100's (it's a sunstar 3f) but the facial lamps don't change with either bed........I'm thinking if the bed is made for 160's then the facials too should be stronger???? shouldn't they? |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Difference between 400w and 500w lamps? Actually the bed works well, too well if anything. People don't need to upgrade because these beds tan too well. I've had a few customers tell me that their body is nice and dark but their face doesn't seem to be as dark.........and that's what made me think the facial lamps maybe should be stronger. |
