Curious if anyone could give me a comparision as far as tanning and ease of maintenance. I am looking for something I can take the acrylic out by myself and relamp on my own. How about the cooling system on these units. Does one run hotter than the other. Looking to get away from the overly hot beds.

As for Sundash proven performer tans real well stay's fairly cool with the Body fan. Acrylics would be alot easier with two people but can be done with one.Refering to the canopy. Maintenance very easy to keep up just keep clean and clean filter in front of ballast tray. Some common failures but not many or often Pcb boards, timer and ocasional ballast. I have never tanned or worked on the Ta equipment but the things i've heard are all positive Quaility built and supported. For easy lamp changes in a base bed you should look into the Cobra they have a hinged acrylics.hope it helps a little.

Re: Sundash 232 GF or Santa Barbara

mikey, i have sundash 232's and they are work horses. Clients have loved them, and they are easy to work on. I never have tanned in a santa barbara, however these beds do not run hot. I have relamped my 232s and my 240 by myself. Now the 240 was a little harder with the acrylics however the 232 was easy! Just unscrew the acrylic and your good to go!

Re: Sundash 232 GF or Santa Barbara

We have had the 232s for like 8 or nine years now. Great beds - acrylics are easy. I never get complaints on these beds. I tan in these units 95% of the time. I like a cool bed and i like to sleep. This unit is great for both. As far as maintenence goes you be the judge. 15 beds for 8 or 9 years - i have not had a service tech in the salon in this time period. Power boards - 1 or two a year - a spring here and there - a couple timers a year - couple of acrylics a year. This is what i would consider normal for so many units. To clean top to bottom and relamp 45 minutes. We have the older units and i have worked on the newer ones at another salon - acrylics in the newer model are very easy.

I have 4 232's and they are great. Work horses indeed. They are a no frills really cool session, that fan rocks! We get quite a bit of on our level 1's
