Well, it's that time. The lamps in our beds are nearing the end of their useful life. My dad has normally handled replacing the lamps since we've been open, but it's my responsibility this time. So, I figured I'd come here to get some solid advice before I call Four Seasons. My regular sales rep is sick, and I don't know if I trust the new girl I got to give me objective advice.

So, we have 2 older Puretan 36 lamp beds. We got the lamps with built in face tanners at the end of the lamp last time we re-lamped them. We don't necessarily care about the built-in face tanners this time.

We also have 3 36 lamp Solaris beds and 1 48 lamp Solaris StarPower.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I've been reading up on lamps since they're my responsibility this time, but I could still use some help.

There's too many lamps to choose from?? Which LS lamp compares to a 160w 9k90? or a 160 watt vhr tt?

I would love to try a light-source but I wouldn't even know what to ask for?

Upgrade fom the 9K90 to the Light Sources Signature Series A-Power High Performance, and upgrade from the TT to the Light Sources Signature Series Plus.

Love Dr. Mueller lamps. Always have used there high- pressure 380v , and now i'm loven' the low-pressure line as well. See about a 7-10 % drop over the first 100 hrs. then solid.....stay very consistant for another 800+ hours. ( and i always used to change 'em at about 500 hrs. )100, 160, & 200's all solid. Call John at Future Industries-1-800-346-3136. Very competitive pricing also.

Questions of the day: How many lamp manufacturers have made Dr. M lamps in the last 10 years? Which contracted version of the lamp was the best? By what miracle has the current manufacturer achieved a 7% drop in radiance after the burn-in?

I would stick with the 9K90's.

Have no idea how many mfgr.'s have made Dr. Mueller lamps over the last ten years as i've been only using them for about 1 year.....but on 15 beds. I used the Cosmo 9k90's and many, many others and all have some good and bad qualities. I've gotten my Dr. Mueller lamps from Future Industries ( John ) and they have performed very well. The drop off has been about 7-10 % AND THEY REALLY STABILIZED FOR 100'S OF HOURS AFTER THAT. i'VE USED THE 100, 120, 160 AND 200 W AND THERE ALL PRETTY GOOD.

Why so hard to belive maintaining a 7 % drop? We are fanatical about keeping acrylics, bulbs and reflectors spotless.
