Rep Power: 23 | Haha.... sounds like a silly question - but perhaps she is trying to get some amunition to refute a stupid salon advertizing regular low pressure as high pressure. In which case she deserves a reply. The simple answer is YES... square (or retangular) lamp casettes are high pressure. Long round fluorescent tubes are low pressure.. even the new-era ones with extra UVA. Inside the "square" casette is a tiny round "bulb" with gas fill at higher than atmospheric pressure. If you drilled a tiny hole in it with a diamond tipped drill it would go pffffft in your face. The long tubes are filled with gas at less than atmospheric pressure (a slight vacuum). If you drilled a tiny hole in one it would go sffffft sucking air into it. PS: don't go drilling holes in lamps unless... 1. They are "off" 2. You are wearing a face mask. 3. You have money to pay for destroying the lamp. |
