Rep Power: 23 | Blue is the natural color of the phosphor which is used in the lamps. Any colors such as red, pink, green, purple, or dark blue use an additive to get that color. Makes no difference in output. If you are referring to a 2-tone lamp such as the Dual Sun by LSI, these lamps are Pink at the top & Blue on the bottom, the top part is stronger 6.5% & the rest of the lamp is 5%. Yes they do tan much better than the Wolff Velocity. |

Rep Power: 0 | I can explain. During the coating process, a liquid phosphur base which has been mixed to specific specifications for uva/uvb output is flushed into the glass, coating it. For the dual sun, it is coated with one mixture for 6.5 plus blue color, dried, then flushed in remaining area with 5.0 mixture plus pink color. The twisted lamps actually do have more usable area which allow electrons to move more quickly, but mostly, that's just for looks. I'm still die-hard regular lamps, whatever color. |
