Rep Power: 0 | I believe that a salon can make it if you give it the right tools. You need to be in the right Area with enough people (LOCATION...) . You need to have the right people to help you who appreciate their customers and treat them right. You need the right equipment. You need it to be clean and neat. You need the right suppliers who can help when needed. You need to be able to price low if thats what your comp. is doing.Advertise and Market correctly AND you also need the right ATTITUDE. Failure is not a word in my vocabulary. I know I missed a few but it's a start. Thanks to everyone for your input Sunnysaint |

Rep Power: 21 | You know the best advice I was given when looking for beds, is do not think like a consumer. Tan in different beds by different manufacturers, what one person says is great you may tan in it and just not feel the same way. You have to believe in what you are selling. All the points above are excellent, set your levels to have a significant difference. I have 4 levels, and it is very visible to the client why they are more money. IMO, I do not believe in tansources opinion about if you offer the same beds, just price yours lower. Well I believe philosophies like that will only continue to devalue the industry. For example in my area Mystic use to get $35-$40 per session and now the going rate is around $25. In some areas lower. Know your demographics, why not sell on quality of equipment rather than price? Good luck to you. |

Rep Power: 21 | Everyone (Riverbrat) real competition is on the way in many markets. New owners should come into the business assuming that prices will stay so high is NOT AN OPTION. This business is within a season of a real price structure change. Plan a new place accordingly. Plan for 15 per Mystic to be realistic don't plan a business around (25-30) the high range. We already charge 9.99 granted I am in a tough market and trying to eliminate little guys but I am not alone. I am trying to inform someone new what is going to happen if I or a well funded chain opens in their market and that may easily happen. Better to be ahead of the curve and READY. Look at other industries to see what will happen over the next few years to tanning. |

Rep Power: 0 | If you want to start a salon with minimal investment, I just recently closed mine and have five beautiful beds. Two are stand up and three are regular. My customers loved but due to other commitments I had to close the salon. Please email beachtan120@aol.com for pics and more info. These beds new would be cost at least $30,000. If you want to pick up we will consider any reasonable offer. If you want delivered we will need at least $15,000. Please reply asap as a reseller will pick up unsold beds this Friday. Good Luck! |

Rep Power: 0 | I've found one interesting site in the Internet http://www.770k.com. This company offers favorable services: 770k works in a correct direction, explaining, that such projects are necessary for the development of a modern society and sights. Is it joke? |

Rep Power: 0 | I just wanted to add somedthing to the conversation. Regardless of the mfg company you decide to go with, there is , what I feel, an important factor that needs to be considered. The average woman is about a size 16. Now, keeping that size in mind, purchasing a bed that has fewer than 32 lamps, seems a bit off. You would be singeling out an enormous group of tanners who most likely do not want to squeez into a tiny little tanning bed. Just my thoughts!!! |
