You really need to find out which lamps are compatible (sp?) with your unit. There are usually several...trial and error...that's what it amounts to. Good Luck!

In her case, "any" 120 watt lamp she wants can be put in. No legal issues here.

You don't need compatibility for a home unit...

Genesis 120w lamps - marketing issue. Check your ballast, if the ballast say 1X100w - then the lamps is a 100w. You can not change the wattage of a lamps unless you change the ballast system.
Look at the Morning Sun, Cosmostar, Professinal - keep in mind the lower the UVB content - the longer the exposure session.

Since you're familiar with Genesis brand name, Sweetness, I assume you have a SunDash unit. I recommend sticking with that lamp. It's professional grade. You could run any 100w, RDC lamp that fits. Tp my knowledge, the Genesis is the only 120w lamp out there, but I don't know everything. I recommend base lamps (100w) with no more than 5.0 UV B yield. The lower the better, IMO. Good luck.

MrB. FYI the 120W is a marketing ploy. The cathode of a 100w and 120w lamps are the same. Do you (or anyone else ) think LSI, Osram,or Philips would make a special cathode for 50-100,000 lamps. NO. Straight from the Manufacture. It is JK's way of brain washing the consumer and trying to capture market share.
