I have a spare Sundash 232 15 min that I am not using at the moment. I was was wondering if anyone has made one of these into either a 20 min or even the 10 min version???

What lamps does either of these take??? Same watts I think just higher or lower UVB.

Also, can I just replace the timer board to reflect the new time, I don't run these on T-Max.

Cheetahs work nicely at 10 minutes, and there are Genesis 10min lamps as well. But LOTS of UVB in a 10 min bed - I don't like 'em. And from a revenue standpoint, I'd never put in a 20 minute bed either.

Yes - you can replace the timer chip.

Note: If you do this, you are the "manufacturer of record". Is DC regulated? Not sure I'd go this route. Do you want to just sell it instead - they usually hold value quite well.

Not sure what I want to do with this beast... It only has 30 hours on it. I dismantled it to accomodate my Mystic machine because it was closest to the water supply. The room that it is housed (last one) is going to house a Miracle Sun King this fall...

I have my office(on the loft level)that I want to do something with, with minimal investment for the time being...My Massage treatment rooms are up there and one is going to double as a Formostar infrared body wrap room that my massage therapist is going to rent both rooms to do wraps for skin detox, inch loss etc.... (more rent $$ for me!) I wanted to do Lumiere on that floor, but so many are bailing out on it I can't see putting 30K into it.

I thought about a leg tanner for up there since the room size will accomodate this (as well as the regular sundash) but I really don't want to put more $$ out there to invest in another piece of equipment since I will be soon ordering my HP to finish my tanning side of the business.(I want to just pay cash for it and be done with it.)

I live in DC, but my salon is in Va right on the border of DC and we aren't regulated...

There is no "Timer Chip" in the sundash 232 you must either replace the whole power board or reprogram the original board with new session time. After that it's just a matter of putting different lamps in it and a new exposure sticker, all sundash 226/232 are the same chassis and drive system. I would recomend putting in the genesis 105W plus 73" Rdc lamp in it and running it for 10 minutes. The 232 platinum 10 min bed calls for a 74" rdc 120w lamp.IMHO it would be better to use this bed in your mix instead of buying a leg tanner.

Ergo,
So a 105W vs. the 120W that the 15 min beds have in them??? What is the difference in UVB in the lamps that I already have vs. the ones you suggest?
I assume that is the deciding factor in the session time, right??

ergo 05-31-2005 10:54 AM

Yes that is the deciding factor in session time the amount of Uvb...The 105W percentage is 8.5 versus the 6.5 120W gs by light source.

What about the facials? same?

ergo 05-31-2005 11:31 AM

40w Hrf Facials are the same..used in all aplications 10, 15 and 20 minute versions.
