Rep Power: 46 | i had to do this about a month ago and found it was cheaper to by the meter than call a electrician set the meter to read the voltage (by reading the directions) slide the plug out of the socket slightly then turn bed on and touch the leads (from meter) to the two prongs with the power(usually left and right ) and thats your voltage if hard wired (no plug) you can do this wherever there is a connection very simple and quick good luck |

Rep Power: 25 | when checking your voltage, make sure you test hot leg to hot leg, this will tell you your true voltage. Not hot leg to ground. Also make sure if you using a multi-meter you have it set in the correct position or you will blow it up. If your purchasing this just to check your voltage, I would find a friend with one instead of spending the money on a volt meter and your don't plan on using it again for other service related issues. |

Every time you call tech support, first they say, get your meter out. Good luck. Whatever you get, you need one that reads AC and DC up to 1000v, Ohms (continuity), and amperage. Good luck. |
