160w bulbs and 500w facials....just wondering if anyone has this bed or has tanned in it before and how they like it? right now our salon has 9 20min laydown tan america beds and they are great...maintence free and we love them...we want a bed that will give customers a better tan yet make us more money...we are lookin at that bed because its a setup from what we have now...we have 100w bulbs now so a great selling point for us would be the sunup has 160w bulbs plus facials...plus its only a 12min tan rather than 20...feedback is appreciated. thanks

Very nice bed. I am generally NOT a fan of stand-ups, but of those on the market, this is one of my favorites. The tan itself will definitely be a step-up from what you have. Tanners are ALWAYS interested in facials, and in a stand-up, it gives you something else to think about/do while you are in there to pass the time (the facials actually have a handle on that section so you can adjust it up or down for taller and shorter tanners).

As a thought -- have you considered trading in a few of your 9 20 min 100W beds for some that have even just the higher wattage (160W) in the canopy (15 min preferably!)? Tan America makes these too. If you REALLY wanted to see your revenue go up, keep 6 of your current 20 min base beds, trade 2 beds for 100/160's and 1 for a Sun-up II (as your "level 3 bed")!! Even at an extra $3 for the 100/160's and an extra $3 from that to the stand-up you can see how you would be able to offer much better results to your customers and make up the costs of those beds in a hurry!

Our customers always say how much they love to tan in them.We have 2 and have made it our level 2 units. We also have the DelRays as our level 2 beds. We charge 11.00 per visit and they are always busy. They do get quite warm inside, we have individual wall A/C's that keep the rooms cool but if they are used ALOT they will still get hot. The sound system is great....over all we think they tan great. MaineTanner

thanks for the feedback..actually we would like to sell a couple of our 20min beds and maybe get a lil bit stronger beds with facials but the only bad thing is right now we charge $6 for a 20min tan in the beds we have now...i personally dont think thats alot..the area of our salon is in a low/middle class area where alot of people tan at places that offer $20/month unlimted tanning even though they have had the same bulbs on all year just because its cheaper...then again there are some people who want a quality tan...thats why i think we are just gonna try out the stand up first...for 15 years we have had 20min laydown beds...this is gonna be a big change...if people react well to the upgrade bed and also the upgrade in price we might end up getting some new beds but it just depends...hopefully it goes well...we will see. thanks (anymore feedback about our situation or the sunup 2 is appreciated) thanks

also for those who do have the sunup 2 what type of market are you in and what do you charge for this bed? im just hoping that our price rise isnt gonna keep people from tanning in the sunup...other local salons are charging from $4 a tan in regular beds to even $5 from standups! (the stand up that the other salon has is called the sundazzler, not sure if its any good or if it even competes with our laydown beds, feedback on that bed would be good also, we wanna stomp out the competition, we are the salon that has been around the longest in my town and with other salons poping up its been hurting business a tad, time to take back over the tanning business in town, thanks for yer help!)
