Needless to say, I amnew to the business and was wondering, how do you know when to change your starters and how do you actually change them?? Is it pretty easy??? I Have a SolTech bed 100w bulbs. Also i have been told that I can upgrade the ballasts on my bed and my make the output stronger and more efficent?? Is that true??? Any input wouldbe appreciated?

Turn the starter counter clock wise and pull down. Yes and no on the ballast. First of all the unit is only designed for 100watt. If you put 160watt (long) the unit would get too hot. Also this would be very expensive. And you would need to change more than just the ballast. Better off to just leave it alone and put a different type of lamps in it.
