hi, I have the Soltech 2400 It came with phillips cleo advantage bulbs and I think it is the same bulbs that you have.....I had to change my bulbs because there wasny enough UVB for me in them, the manufacturer said the bulbs were bronzing bulbs and tanned slowly and more darkly then most bulbs and the tan stayed longer.....I dont know how patient you are but I am not very so I changed them to Lightsources Desert Sun 7.5 I am very happy with them great color and fast results.....I have heard good things about the Bronze S twisters too for home beds.....Did your bed have the face tanner dual sun bulbs???

Hi, I`m not patient either and yes mine does have the face tanner dual sun bulbs, but it doesn`t matter to me if I have them next time ( do I have too??) Thanks for answering. I`m kinda disgusted that I just bought a new bed and already having to get new bulbs.

I was the same way.....the bulbs that you have are bronzing bulbs, no you dont have to get the face tanner next time.....just make sure you get some bulb with nonreflectors becasue the bulbs will cause stripes if you get reflectors...sound like you want a bulb with a little more uvb i would try in the 6.5-7.5 range light sources are great you can get the 6.5 beach suns or the 7.5 desert suns and you hsould be happy, but if you are patient with these bulbs that you have they will give a great dark bronzing color.....pm me if you have anymore questions.

What are you comparing your tan to? I hope not a salon quality tan cause you can't get that from a 16 lamp tanning bed no matter what lamps you have in there.

When you buy Pinto expect Pinto results.

I`ve had a 16 bulb bed before that tanned great and that`s why I decided on another 16 bulb when we bought our house, but this one plugs into a regular outlet where my other one did not.I guess I should have listened to my husband for once and bought the 24 bulb bed. But I like a dark tan and I`ve been getting in this one steady for 4 weeks and just have a light tan.

You can only get as dark as the amount of UVA that's being thrown at you. I'm willing to bet that if you metered your bed it would be in the single digits. If you get a lamp that's higher UVB then you will get the red you want but no brown...wait...you say you have 2 beds??? That's a whole different paint job.

Now, here's what you do. Put the highest piece of crap UVB lamp in one bed and a super long term UVA lamp in the other. Then alternate between them.

That's what you need to do.

A 16 lamp unit (canopy) certainly will not give professional results.

Thanks, no I do not have 2 beds, I use to have another 16 bulb bed that I sold when I had my daughter, I decided to get another one and it does not seem to tan like the old one. I`m going to try the light sources like hometan suggested. Thank you for all the help!
