Rep Power: 0 | Every year someone at the High School starts the story about the folks that get the staff infection, bacteria, fungus etc... from the tanning beds. Mine or my competitor, they seem to take turns. I'm trying to nip it this year.... Does anyone have a website or something in writing that SPELLS IT OUT for these kids! I'm sick of fighting the same battle. |

Rep Power: 24 | You can't win with the high schools. We've tried so many things. The principal says that it would be "promoting" tanning in the school and parents would get upset. For instance, we wanted to promote a "Buzz Free Prom" last year with 3 local high schools. We called some local businesses, photo, restaurants, hair salon, florist to give a discount for kids who signed up. We put together a package that was similar to the Prom Promise. If the student signed up they received a card they could bring to the businesses and get their discount. (it was all stuff they needed for the Prom anyway) Well, 2 schools turned us flat down, the third told us to get the things together and they would distribute them. So, here we are running around and spending money like crazy. Do you know they never handed them out or anything. We were doing the school a favor by promoting a drinking and drug free Prom. We were PO'ed. So, in a nutshell, educate the tanners who come in to the salon. Get together pamphlets that you need regarding the info you want to put out there. Contact Smart TAn if you are a member they have a high school kit now. |
