Rep Power: 0 | I have an ULTRA SUN 43/4 tanning bed that won't shut off! The internal fans cut off after cool down but the bulbs all remain on... I can't figure it out... An suggestions? Anyone run into this? |

Rep Power: 0 | sounds like your main relay is stuck in.make sure power is disconnected to bed then pull your tray out and check your relays to see if one is stuck.without power you should be able to push in and they will spring back if not its probably stuck.hope this helps. |

Rep Power: 23 | stuck contactor in the bench. whack it twice to release and spray contact cleaner in with the bed off, of course. order a new contactor and keep as a spare. www.futureindustries.com carries a GE replacement, around $100. |

If it stuck because the contacts are spoiled, which is what happens to those after a few years, you DO NOT want to depend on a cleaner doing any good. Sometimes those contact literally melt together. When this happens, the only solution is to replace the contacts or the whole contactor. And this is one of those thing where if you have to ask how to fix it, you should just replace it and not even think about messing with it. |

Rep Power: 0 | it sounds like the contactor has welded itself closed so the bed stays on. This is usually due to a bad connection causing heat. Buy a new one and check ALL connections including the Breaker. That is a good warning sign it could have been a fire. |

Rep Power: 22 | "This is usually due to a bad connection causing heat" Not necessarily. Every time a contactor closes and opens, there is a little spark on the contact surfaces. Over time, the contacts simply wear out. The quicker and the more cleanly the contacts in a contactor make and break their connection, the longer a contactor will last. There's a lot of those Fanal contactors out there with 30,000 to 40,000 cycles. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: tanfixr on 2004-11-30 09:58 ] |
