Rep Power: 25 | I guess you can call anything you want an upgrade as long as it a better piece of equipment than your "base beds". I have so many people come in that say they want a "level 2" or "level 3". They look at you crazy when you try to explain to them what the "other" salon calls a level 2 is our base bed. We also have some beds with a higher UVB lamp in them that we charge $2.00 extra to use, but try to convince them that it is stronger than a base bed since they look the same. Do you think that we need industry standards as to what is a base bed, level 1, 2 or 3???? Or do we just need to keep marketing our specific equipment to ur customers??? |

Rep Power: 23 | Many salons market thier equipment different. Level 1, 2, 3, or 4 Ultra, Power, Monster.... What ever you do just make sure that you have enough seperation between levels to warrant an UPGRADE & a higher $$$ value. Entry level is almost always 20 minutes 24, 28, 30 or 32 lamps with or without facials (Some are run 15 min) (I prefer no facials for the bottom feeders) Next level is usually a 15 minute 100W Reflector or small VHOR unit with Facials 32-36 lamps 3rd level will be 40+ VHOR lamps & 4+ facials around 10-15 minutes max, Fast browning is a plus. Many stand ups also fit in this area. Highest level is almost always High Pressure be it a matress, combi or 360 unit. I don't think there will ever be an industry standard. I have seen salons with 12 minute 32 lamp VHOR beds as entry level & another salon on the same block with 30 minute 24 lamp beds as entry level. |

Rep Power: 0 | Obviously that will all vary depending on the salon. My upgrade unit may be what the next place uses as "base" beds, and the next plac may have bigger beds than the last and call them base beds. Same goes for the old "superbed" tag. Some call a megalamp bed a super bed others call a 10 minute bed a superbed. |

Rep Power: 0 | I feel that an upgrade bed would be a bed that has more features (that promote tanning) than another. Example: 28 lamp bed could be considered a base bed. A 28 lamp bed with 2 facials could therefore be considered an upgrade, a 30 or 32 lamp bed also an upgrade when compared to the 28, and so on. A 28 lamp bed with a body fan? Not an upgrade. All of this would be hard to standardize. |
