I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on getting a loan for adding tanning units. I am wanting to add a couple of tanning units and went to the bank for a fairly small loans for used beds. They told me they would not lend money for tanning units and that probably no bank around here would. It had nothing to do with my credit, just the collateral issue. Those of you who buy used equipment, do you have any suggestions on financing? Do you just have to have the cash handy or use credit cards? I dont consider plastic an option and I dont really have the cash right now, you know business in not really banging in July.

That’s a good question. Maybe try posting this in the salon owner’s forum. It may be viewed more. I have been in business for almost one year now. I had the same response from banks. I had one salon owner tell me “welcome to the hardest industry to get financing for”. If that’s true its gonna be a long time until I can open another salon or upgrade beds. Let me now if you have any great response, or good ideas.

If you go to the Evans Leasing website, click onto "tanning equipment", they have an ever turning inventory of lease backs. Some GREAT equipment, for sale/lease. If you lease it, they will lease for you, deliver and set-up. You could generally get beds for less than prices stated. Talk to them live. They will come down even more on some beds. WORTH IT!!
