Hi everyone,
One of my Sundash 226 beds zeros out the front desk timer when the customer pushes the start button. It doesn't happen all the time, it's very sporatic. We set the timer and pushed the start button and when it happened for us, the lamps go on for a second and then go out. The bed display says L 33, but I read in the manual that this is the software version. Does anyone know what could be causing this? The Tech told me that a balist is probably bad, but we have to let it go completely out before we can get it fixed. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

It could be a couple things first is a communication chip. Second the rj22 cable could be nicked somewhere. Or it could be a lamp out causing it to shut off from a bad ballast.ect.... Or just the powerboard or timer going out This might help you find out what the problem is without being there this is all the help I can give you.

For what it's worth: I had this happen on one of my Genesises and the only thing to fix it was changing out the main curcuit board. I tried replacing different chips and the display itself but that was just a waste of time.

It's the board. $200 will replace it.

Are you guys talking about the board that the RJ cable from the front desk timer plugs into?

Thats the power board they are refering to,I would make sure all the lamps come on and none of them are flickering before swaping boards. What year is your bed?It may be the processor chip.I think the v-32 chips had issue's.

Our cash drawer does that to ours sometimes and so does our refrigerator when you close it.

My beds are 2002 Sundash 226. I did check the lamps when the bed starts and they all seem okay.

If you have another bed of the same make and model(that is not experiencing the same symptons) swap the powerboards in house first to confirm it is a faulty board or processer chip as any electrical part is non refundable. You may want to keep an extra board around,if a bed goes down in busy season because of a failed pcb board you will have one in stock with no down time on the bed(takes 10 mins to switch the boards out)You can also talk with your distributor and ask them about swaping it out under warranty.Sun can repair your old board at the factory.
