The Electronic starters only strike once & if the lamp doesn't come on then it isn't going to. You need to put the Advantage lamps back in the unit & then turn the unit on & off about a dozen times to get the starters and lamps in sync.

Regular S12 starters will keep firing at the lamp until it starts.

That will cure the problem.

HOLY CRAP I had the same thing happen (different lamp, same starter). That's real irritating (think I threw out those lamps. Grrrr)

John is correct. In the ads for the electronic starters, they don't tell you that they only stick once, and thats it. Found that out when i had a problem with the buck/booster.

Talked with fred at world wide specialty lamps(very smart dude)he explained the in and outs of electronic starters as john from URI as stated he said to use the cleo starter thats designed for higher watt lamps and that should fix my problem, people need to know this info about electronic starters that they are not all what they are cracked up to be,I could have burned the lamps in with some s-12 starters if I had some extras but I was so ticked that I just replaced the old lamps back in until I get some new starters.
