Rep Power: 0 | I have two sunstar beds(20 min) but one of them gets hot to the touch after you lay for awhile( over 12 or so minutes). I called the service ppl and they said that some beds just run hot....is this right? The lamps are the same in both beds. This particular bed has about 450 hours on it. Is there something that needs to be adjusted or is it normal to be hot to the touch |

Rep Power: 107 | With your description of "hot to the touch" I'd be a bit worried. Of course I have know way of knowing what your definition of hot is, but it seems a bit too hot I'd check to see if the cooling fans are all working and/or blowing in the right direction. Make sure that your tanning rooms have good airflow. Adequate cool airflow at the bottom and room for hot air to escape up top............. |

Rep Power: 0 | I got in the bed and tanned myself and after about 12 minutes the heals of my feel were getting hot..the acrylic was hot...not scorching hot. I did get under the bed and all fans are clear of dust and are working properly. I have a two way fan on the wall that can suck the hot air out and into another room or vise versa. The heat that goes into the second room...(same bed just cooler)is amazing. After one-two tanners the second room heats up past 90. There hasn't been anyone "burnt" in this bed. My tanners have told me that the previous owner had the same problem last year and had someone out to adjust the bed???? What exactly is it that was adjusted? The guy from ets couldn't figure it out. I went over everything and the guy said that he couldn't think of anything because the fans were going..etc...thank you for your help, I really do appreciate it! |

Rep Power: 107 | Well, if all the fans a clean, unobstructed, working and blowing in the right direction, it might just be under-cooled and it's gonna run hot. I have had a couple of units get "too" hot and it was a cooling fan problem, new fans, no problems. Are the fans running for a few minutes after the session has ended? |

Rep Power: 0 | might be that you need a buck booster ,sounds like that bed has too many volts going through it compared to the other one. ( had a bed that was doing the same thing ,cost about $ 100.00 to fix it ,10-12 yrs. ago.) My competitor has the same problem ,to bad they don't read this thread. |

Rep Power: 0 | It already has a buck booster...both beds have them. Its funny because as many ppl say how hot it is..they would rather tan in it than the "cooler" bed. As long as it is running properly otherwise...I guess I will work on the air flow through the room. I don't have anything at the bottom..I've read other threads in here about the vents that you can insert in the doors..anyway, thanks so for everyones help...much appreciated! |
