One of my beds has a lamp that every now and then is slow to start. All the lamps will come on and this one lamp will flicker, flicker and start. Is that a sign I need to change the starters or what? Only like 1500 hours on the bed on its second set of lamps. Should you change all the starters when you change the lamps?

If one of your starters is making a lamp flicker, change the starter right away, and change all the starters your next lamp change. We recommend the electronic starters for their long service life, reliability, and soft start of the lamps.

We use just the old style starters, our beds are 4 years old and we have only replaced a handfull of starters. More often for us the bulb fails, it will flicker and eventually come on, replacing the starter does not always fix the problem. It is in fact a bad bulb, this happens rarely but usually right after installing new bulbs. They are Wolff brand. The easiest way to see it its a bulb or starter it to simply remove the bulb, put one located next to it in its spot, if it still does not light - starter, if it does light right up then the original bulb has goner bad. We get a credit back from our distributor for any bad bulbs, since they are flourescent style bulbs they should out live there UV life rating before they "burn out".
