HELP! I just acquired some SUNQUEST ZX 30'S
I have a MAJOR problem, the plastic peices are turning yellowish from the uv light. Any ideas, suggestions? They have very low hours, have been in storage for 4 years. I am just starting out, would appreciate any ideas, suggestions, etc. I want to invest my cash in upgrade beds. Is there any way of painting? Or something simple? Thanks for your input, I appreciate all I can get.

End caps can be ordered and replaced..try ETS or any supplier.

For paint, go to Home Depot/Lowes and look for paint that is used for appliances, perferably stoves (heat resitant), or let your fingers do the walking; yellow pages, under Appliance Repair..you may locate someone who actually comes out and repaints appliances.

I'm currently preparing a used bed I just purchased for paint. The bed is all steel except for the end caps which I am replacing and the internal components on this bed are easy to remove and that's what I did. Tomorrow it's off to a friends garage for a nice spectra red paint job using automotive paint. If you have to paint your units with the "guts" in place, you'd better make sure everything is masked and sealed well.

Having owned Sunvisions and Sundashes, yellowing end caps is something I've become an expert on. Your best bet is to seek out Krylon Fusion for plastic spray paint. It comes in a can. I get mine at WalMart. This is a new product that sticks better than your average spray paint. I sand lightly and then wipe clean. Spray with several light coats. Voila! This works well on those on-the-wall fans (Image Air, etc) that yellow.

Thanks everyone! I like the ideas, and if anyone has any other ideas, suggestions, please share! They may be hauled to the dumpster! Thanks ETS! No answers from them. I will not be buying any upgrade beds from a company that has NO suggestions.

We also just purchased 2 used zx 30s National tanning supply suggested easy off oven cleaner spray on to small area wipe off immediatly be careful not to let it sit to long it will soften the plastic & look worse .Havent tried it yet but anything has to make them look better

I've heard this same complaint with the ETS beds. I was told in Nashville (by a salon owner) to use "scrubbing bubbles" to help with the discoloration of the plastic (just be careful to keep it off the acrylic) I do not have these beds but I'm looking for new equipment in order to expand. I called ETS and was told that as of the year 2000 they have changed the way the "plastic" is manufactured and this problem has been solved. Anyone have newer equipment from ETS that can back this up? Thanks!!!
