We have a bed at home brand new nearly 10 months old. It dosn't tan anymore I gues the lamps need to be changed. Is there anyway to know before it stops tanning that the lamps are going out.
Second the bed is an ESB lamps by Solara. Should I use the same lamps or change to a different one?
Third What is the best place to buy?
Thanks in advance
It is 16 lamps and specially face/arms pink/blue,

You shouldn't need to change your lamps if the unit is only 10 months old especially using it a a home unit. How many sessions do you do a week in it. A 16 lamp unit is not going to provide you with great tanning results in the first place. What are the name brand lamps in the bed now? I will be happy to help you. Jeff

Well jim, first most commercial units lamps are good for 1000 hours, home units, hum, i couldnt tell ya, probably not as long. You will need to do a search online for the type of bed you have. To get the life of the bed you will want to replace with the same lamps if they are the ones that came with the bed. YOu can purchase a lamp meter, which gives a reading on the lamplife. To buy the lamps, most require that you are a salon, but I am sure you can find a place online. I will pm you with a place and you can go from there.

Thank you
It seems to do the job for my daughter, she has had all her friends try it out many times.
All the lamps light up but do not get a tan anymore, figured new lamps required.
There are 16 lamps in this ESB Solara Face and Arm Tanning Beds the names are Solara duet and facial and classic

When you need new lamps, you can usually tell by looking at the lamp end and it tends to turn black when they are getting towards the end of their life. You can use those same lamps to replace them with or the Dual Sun's by Light Source.

Thanks for all the help - I do not use the bed my daughter does. She says she does not tan anymore - but I just got home from a trip so I gotta test it.
The lamps are by Solara A755 PN 532002. I have searched the web and found some sites - can you believe some do not have a phone number - anyway I hate to be a nuisance but my daughter is on me to get it fixed
They do not appear to be black/burned and I have no idea what the wattage is. Any more help would be really appreciated - Thanks

PS whats the difference between
Reflector BI Pin RUVA
BI Pin VHO
Reflector VHO Bi Pin RUVA

and Standard BI PIN
What about this?
Would this replace the lamps I have??

The blue sections of the lamp are Light Sources standard high power 5.0 UVB lamp, and the pink section contains a special phosphor that allows 50% MORE UVB to come through, a whopping 6.5%! This concentrates more UVB stimulation in the facial area for more even tanning. ONLY Dual Sun offers this patented technology, and we are the first and only company to offer you a kit with this amazing technology included!

This Kit Contains: 16 lamps, 12 standard and 4 facial tanning. Standard lamps are Brilliance 5.0, facial lamps are Light Sources Dual Sun 5.0/6.5.Prices for this 16 lamp kits are equal to the individual price of the lamps. You don't pay extra for the convenience.

You can take the bed apart and wipe down the lamps and clean both sides of the acrylic. This helps with the life of the lamp. Most lamps turn black on the ends, thats from the starting of the lamp. A lamp meter is a good tool to have.

Change the lamps every four years. You will not reach the recommended life expectancy of the lamps in a home environment.

Lamps will last for years shelved but once they are ignited, the phospourus will begin to deteriorate. The four year mark is a good benchmark for ignited lamps that have reached the point of diminished output regardless of the hours on them.

Sounds like the entire town is getting in your daughters bed there daddy....

Sounds like you might want to get your advice from the place you bought your home unit from.... I am sure they will be more than happy to sell you more lamps--- and might even tell you what goggles to use too.

Thank you all for your help - especially you Sheila. The place we bought from doesn't even carry lamps in stock.
Three weeks and mucho dollars and they will provide. My son and I took it apart and cleaned. No burning anywhere - but learned a lot. BTW were the google suggestions for me?
