Hi,
I am a member ay iamtan .com also ...and I just found out that I have the wrong bulbs in my bed. I baught this bed from a place that sells used beds to salons, and it was a trade in....they put the hi-tans in,and sold it to me. I knew nothing about tanning beds,so I have been using this bed/lamp for 20 minutes a session, like they told me to. Is there any way I can still use this lamp for 20 mins since I dont burn in it? or do I have to lower the tijme to 10 minutes ...is this lamp always a 10 minute lamp? I was told the reason its bad to use for 20 is because you will burn, and burning is a no,no.....but I dont burn in it now that I am tan . so should I go down to 10 mins now?? lol I always wish I could stay in it longer ...to get darker hehe(nver would tho) thanks alot for any help!

Shana

Hhey I work both sites and was the one who warned you about the bulbs. I use the bulbs in a 12 minure max bed that cook people that are not tan. They are designed to blast you with some extra UVB to break your tanning plateau. That John@URI is probably the best person to deal with. If I were you I'd pick up a case of Wolff EverGlo (I think those are the ones) which have been known to last upwards of 1500 hours. My major concern is that the bed you have is not designed to hangle a 12min bulb except for the fact that it's 100watts. Watts really has nothing to do with bulb output. Good luck.

First of all are you using this unit for personal use in your home, and also what type of bed is it? You must also check the voltage running to the bed. If this bed has choke ballast in it and you are running at 208, the lamps are not functioning as they should. The Hi-Tan lamp is a very strong lamp with more UVB. I'm surprised that you want to go longer than 20 min. This is a 10 Min. lamp although many people do use them an go longer than 10 min. Jeff

hi,
thanks guys. yes I am glad I posted about my tanning bed,or I would have kept hurting my skin. about going longer then 20 mins ...that was kinda a joke,I just always want to be darker, and these bulbs dont burn me....but I would never go longer then the beds max time limmitt ....wich upsets me because I have been tanning twice that amount for the last 3 years. I am very scared of the damage I may have dne to my skin. But since someone had mentioned the reason the lamps were not good for 20 mins is because I would burn...I thought maybe if I do not burn, then i have really hurt my sin that bad ya know? but I dont know. I will not go aboe 10 mins from now on....or 12 you say? anyways ...not 20 lol. thanks for your help.

There was a HI Tan-S lamp that was designed for 20 minute beds. They are no longer made but some are still floating around in wharehouses.Make sure the lamps are the Hi Tan by confirming the actual part number on the lamp and check the cosmedico web sight.

Really. What's up with it? ALso I have a question. How well do the Cosmedico ESP and ESP/R work? WHat configurations do they work best with? I've used VLRs before and was wondering how they compaired performance/usable life/pricewise. Right now I have 2 sunsource 32 bulb 20min beds (using Goldariums) and a Sunsource 32bulb VHR/VLR bed, fyi. Thanks in advance.

The Esp's are quite a bit stronger than the Goldariums you are currently using. They will give a much faster result, more of a 15-12 minute tan.

The ESP/R are really strong, under 10 minute session, higher UVB, fast results for advanced tanners only.

To kick your beds up a notch, without over doing it. Try using the Midday Sun in your 20 minute 32 lamp beds, for your VHR bed switch to VHR TT in the top & VLR TT in the bench.
You will be very pleased with these lamps.

very good. Under 10 min session? Dear God. Are the ESPs like the HiTan? Would they be better in a setup currently using HiTans? I've noticed HiTans are burners if you are not tan already.
